Sick... Again

Uggghhh. Liam woke up Sunday morning with an icky cough again and then the runny nose. He had an ok night last night... lots of coughing, but didn't need a lot of pacis. He is really starting to be able to put himself back to sleep so much better than in the past :)

This morning he woke up with a fever (99.8) and was coughing a lot, so Jon is home with him today. We will see how the day goes and whether his fever goes away, but if all stays the same, I will be home with him tomorrow and we will be off to the doctor just to make sure.

Send healthy thoughts our way... (as I sit at work and have kids cough all over me...)

Tricked Me!

Well I was convinced Liam was getting his upper teeth... I am was right and wrong. The little stinker tricked me. Here I was looking at the top of his mouth... feeling everyday AND out pops his third tooth... on the bottom! He now has another tooth on the right side! No sign of the left tooth yet... but I am on to his tricks now!

Feeling Better

Almost scared to post that because life dictates that Liam will go downhill again, but he seems to be feeling better. He is on day three of antibiotics and his ear doesn't seem to be bothering him (although it never really seemed to!) His nose is pretty free of goo and his cough is intermittent. Hopefully he will continue to sleep well and rest up so he is feeling all better!

In other news... new teeth may be on there way... just a hunch. I will keep you posted!

What are these chunks doing here?

We gave Liam his first finger foods tonight... chunks of cooked sweet potato! He was curious and really loved banging the food on his tray. He snagged several pieces with his newly acquired pincher grasp, but none made it to his mouth. I gave him a couple pieces and he did well with them... chewing motions and all! I also smashed some sweet potato with his pears (rather than pureeing it in the food processor) and he did very well with that! Only one gag and one small piece spit out! He will be on his way to 'big people' food in no time!

32 (well... 33) weeks old!

We fell a week behind with Liam's pictures... sick babies don't like pictures before bed and forgetful parents :)

But here he is... so cute and so big!

Weight Check

Forgot to mention... Liam now weighs 19lbs and 13.5 oz... only 10 ounces in a month... slowing down!

Uh Oh

Liam's cold has now escalated to antibiotic status...

His cough started to get worse last night and he was pretty snotty again this morning. As it turns out, daycare called since Liam was pretty cranky all morning... so doctor's appt. was in the works! Although he doesn't have a blatant ear infection, he does have fluid in his right ear, which may or may not be infected. The doctor wanted to start antibiotics because of the fluid and ongoing cold for two weeks now.

So... pink amoxicillin it is! Liam likes the flavor (just like his mommy!)... hopefully he will be feeling better before we know it!

We will be resting up this weekend taking it easy!

We spent Saturday up at a rental house with all the grandparents. It was beautiful weather! Liam loved having all the grandparent's attention eventhough he was a tired, somewhat under the weather boy!

Liam took a three hour power nap on Sunday morning and we went for a hike with some friends in the afternoon!

Liam is feeling somewhat better... nose is drying up again, but the cough is still there. He had a good day at daycare and was a very happy boy this evening, so I hope he is on the road to recovery!

Cold... now a cough

Liam's cold is definitely getting better. He has been in his crib without extensive rocking for three nights now. Tuesday night he even slept the entire night through without a peep! His nose is still stuffy and runny, but the colorful stuff has stopped! Now Liam has a cough, but I think it is just from all the drainage happening. He still hasn't had any fever and is a happy boy when he is awake... so all in all, we are getting through the first cold pretty well!

Liam is in love with daycare. He loves his teacher, usually squirming to get out of my arms and into hers when I drop him off in the morning! His naps are still hard, with some days better than others... but overall he has adjusted very well.

He is LOVING his bathtime lately... actively playing with his bath toys and splashing in the water! He is getting more and more adventurous when he is sitting anf being held... lunging to get what he wants! In a couple of weeks we are going to start finger foods... how fun!

Cold...

Liam has got his first cold. I suspect it was from holding hands with Vanessa at daycare, since she was quite the snotty-face on friday as well :)

When I picked Liam up on Wednesday, one of the daycare teachers told me about how Liam and Vanessa were playing on the carpet and Liam thought instead of playing with toys, he wanted to play with Vanessa. So he reached right out and grabbed her hand. Ahh... already a ladies man!

At anyrate, thursday night... snot city. Poor boy :( He is doing fairly well during the day... happy enough. Sleeping is pretty difficult for him though, since he can't really breathe all that well. We have every "non-medicated" cold remedy in use: humidifier, vicks plug-in, vicks on the back, nasal aspirator, nasal saline, vaseline on the nose, tylenol... probably more I can't think of. Jon and I have been switching off nights because pretty much Liam needs some snuggles and upright sleeping most of the night... hope this goes away soon!
