Believe it or not these pictures were actually taken on time... just posting them a bit late! Living with a 3 1/2 year old and a 3 month old does not leave much time for anything!
This past month has been the hardest so far since Evan has joined our family (as I write this I wonder if each month is always going to feel harder than the last... I certainly hope not!), but also filled with so many firsts and wonderful moments. Here's the highlights:
- Many family visits. We loved having Kathy and Gary visit to meet Evan and see Liam! Lots of visits from grandparents and friends (trying to keep mommy sane!)
- Evan found his hands and LOVES sucking on his fingers
- Evan giggles and belly laughs!
- Sleeping through the night is becoming a regular deal here... he really is a champion night sleeper. He is still sleeping in the rock n play sleeper... we try the crib from time to time, but he just wakes up there. I am going to wholeheartedly jump into transitioning into the crib after our upcoming cabin trip! Evan is 50/50 on sleeping completely through the night 9/10 to 5/6 or waking up for a feeding around 3/4 and then going back down. He almost always sleeps in until 8 or 8:30, which is wonderful! I get to snuggle Liam and get him ready for the day.
- Reflux is still a daily occurrence, we upped his meds a bit and that kind of works. He is still spitting up like crazy... literally soaking through onesie after onesie and feedings can be a bit screamy from time to time, but overall he is growing and that's what counts.
- Speaking of growing, we were in for a Liam checkup and I put Evan on the scale... with clothes and he was 16 lbs, 15 ounces :-0 We go for our next checkup at the end of the month for all the good stats
- Evan is batting at toys like crazy... grabbing them and holding on to them. He desperately wants to put everything into his mouth these days and does a pretty good job with it!
- Daytime sleeping has made my life incredibly hard this past month. Evan loves to snuggles his mommy and no one else. He will scream and scream for everyone else. He will nap very well during the day if I am holding him. If I am not... well, enter the screaming baby. He wakes up if I put him down. I have tried and continue to try to put him down and at best I will get 30 minutes. At worst he is awake before I can blink!
- He likes to hang out in the sling. He is learning to like the baby bjorn. He loves facing out in the baby bjorn, but isn't quite tall enough yet!
- Evan rolls over! From his tummy to his back. He did this for a few days and now we haven't seen it again for a bit, but ama, daddy, liam and I all got to see it.
- He is trying to sit up in his bouncer and when he is lying flat... he wants to see what is going on!
- He loves sitting (with some support) and playing with toys. Some of his favorites are watching big brother doing ANYTHING, looking at faces book, the dotted ball, his dragonfly and peacock toys, the new noisy toys from Grandma (elmo and laughing ball thing), sophie the giraffe, and of course he loves to zone out on the tv and ipad!
- He had the opportunity to start taking more bottles, which he does very well with as long as he is hungry. He will down a 6 ounce bottle without blinking twice!
- Loves singing songs, especially "If you're happy and you know it", "Pattycake", and "Itsy, Bitsy Spider"
