Pizza Box

16 Months Old!

Our 'baby' is sixteen months old already! He is changing so much everyday!
Here are some of the highlights of a 16-month old!

  • Balls!!! Liam is an excellent ball spotter. He loves carrying, throwing and chasing them down!

  • New teeth (two upper molars are in; two bottom molars just broke through in the last couple of days)

  • Carrying heavy/awkward things... trying to figure it all out!

  • Pushing, pulling, sliding... stubborn, stubborn; but hey a laundry basket amuses him for 20 minutes!

  • To eat or not to eat... that is a minute-by-minute question. Liam always eats something, but what that happens to be seems to change meal by meal, sometimes even within the meal itself. Liam ate an entire can of mandarin oranges one day... the only thing he would touch. The next day or two later... wouldn't even touch the oranges...

  • Walking, running, squatting, starting to climb... moving!

  • Words, words, words... mostly still approximations, although many times he can get pretty close! I have been recording the words he uses pretty consistently on the sidebar!

  • Signing... oh my, he is picking up signs left and right... making up his own signs as well! Keeping track of his signs is a full-time job and I can only keep up with some of them!

  • Starting to follow one and two step directions pretty well. He is becoming a good helper - his favorite is going to get shoes when asked... so cute!

  • Growing feet! We just were at the shoe store today... went from size 5 to 5 1/2 - 6ish in about a month!

  • Independent and Stubborn. Liam knows what he wants and he will NOT accept help doing it. He has no problem whatsoever telling you that he wants to do it by himself... his way!

  • Pretend play! He is 'gulping' water from cups; feeding his animals pretend food and water; laying people down to bed; combing pretend hair; combing real hair (mommy, daddy, liam, bentley)

  • Starting to really get into his artwork. He likes to see what the crayons do on paper... will have to start exploring other mediums!

  • Saying 'hi' and 'bye' to everything and everyone!

  • Exploring iPad apps...especially likes the peek-a-boo farm one :)

  • Continues to love his books. Current favorites include: Anything with real animal pictures, chicka chicka boom boom, dogku, knuffle bunny books, lift-the-flap books (but please... no help!)

  • Such a lover... giving hugs and kisses to mommy, daddy, bentley and his stuffed animals when asked and spontaneously! Also, blowing kisses a lot more!

  • Still loves peek-a-boo... with his hands, hiding behind doors, hiding in the closets!

  • Is sleeping so much more consistently! Bedtime is between 7 - 7:30, up around 7 usually. Naps anywhere from 1 hour - 4 1/2 hours! He is know much better able to nap in different places as long as there is a crib/pack and play. He still resists sleep in the car and has never fallen asleep in his stroller!

  • Still loves chica the best on TV, but is also really starting to like the music shows and animals shows!

  • Getting more and more hair... we may have to think about a haircut soon!

  • Has a forward-facing carseat now... just got too cramped and he couldn't see anything (which led to a lot of loud complaining!)

  • Is just so fun, sweet, caring, loving and independent... we just love him so much!

Camping

We went camping at the pinewoods campground, part of the Kettle Moraine Southern Unit, for a night last weekend. We had a lovely site (mental note, #169) and Liam loved camping! He took to it like a natural... exploring, getting dirty and watching for animals!

Sitting at the picnic table with Daddy... Taking a (short!) nap in the tent. We were so proud that he even fell asleep! Liam did wonderfully that night... asleep without a peep for almost 12 hours!

Exploring the Campsite

Swimming and Playing in the sand

While camping we went down to Ottawa Lake, in the Kettle Moraine Southern Unit, playing in the water and with the sand! Liam was a bit hesitant about the (cold!) water at first, but he liked wading out into the deeper water and bobbing up and down with mommy! He did not like falling over and getting cold water everywhere :( Liam liked to knock down the sand castles best... although throwing the sand in the air was a close second!

Zoo trip with Grandma Roxanne!

Loved the fish... seriously, we might have to think about getting a fish tank!

Our little monkey keeps growing...

Bike 'hat'

Eyeing the bike 'hat' (we call it that since he knows what a hat is!)Maybe if Mommy tries it on first!Maybe it is only a little terrible...
Nope, in fact it is very terrible...

Sleepy-head!

Really mom... turn the lights off!

We should really be getting paid by Pepsi!

Two-fisting...

Glug... glug!

Silly, Silly Boy!

Some cuteness from our first couple of weeks on summer vacation!

Liam Artwork

Some recent artwork... Liam did the stickers all by himself! He is getting better and better with coloring. He will get excited about it now and requests to color more and more!

Farm Animals

Weekend Fun!

Jon and I got away for a vacation to door county this last weekend and Liam got a vacation with his Grandpa Clancy, Grandma Mary, and Uncle Andrew! Liam got to go to the park, play with lots of new toys and go to Bay Beach! Jon and I had a fabulous time away from it all! Surprisingly, there are many pictures of Liam's weekend whereas Jon and I don't have a single picture!
