Shouting Hooray and Shaking at the same time!

We got a counter to our original offer today... for a price we can swing... so in about 60 days we are homeless :)  Jon and I are excited... excited and scared.  There are many unknowns in front of us, which is always something we both struggle with, but in the end we both know this is a good move for our family.  We will find a place to live, play and enjoy... stay tuned for what can only be described as a frenzy of crazy!

As a side note, I had a dream months ago that we would get an offer on a tuesday.  As it turns out we are solidifying the offer on a tuesday and Liam's 19-month birthday at that!

Kathy and Gary

Jon's Aunt Kathy and Uncle Gary were in the area from Colorado this weekend and spent the day on Sunday.  We had a lot of fun catching up and quoting Kathy she "got to see the blog live and in person!"  Needless to say, Liam enjoyed his company and they both enjoyed Liam!  Jon and I both love the fact that Liam is loved and enjoyed by so many and it is always wonderful to spend time watching others love and enjoy our baby boy!  Thanks for stopping by Kathy and Gary and we hope that we will see you again soon!

Also.. as soon as I get a picture of the giant bear (foot seen above) I will be posting :)

New Toy!

Grandma Roxanne and Grandpa Dave came up for dinner on Saturday night after we had to cancel our apple picking/hayride plans due to rain and colds :(  They brought a very exciting gift with them... a cozy coupe car with a trailer!

Liam loves all the cars he gets to play with at daycare and has spent hours playing in the stores with the display cars, but he LOVES playing with HIS car.  He just gets in and out and in and out, taking 'peep, peep' and other toys for rides.  Although he doesn't love his new trailer hooked up to his car yet, he is growing fond of the idea that he can fit more stuff in his car when his trailer is on!  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for more fun!!!

Another big boy feat!

Eating breakfast a couple of weekends ago (must have been a Packer sunday though!)... in a big boy booster!  Liam was extremely excited... sometimes it is hard to believe he was ever so little!

Words, Words, Words

Liam is off to a great week!  He is feeling better and words are just exploding in the last few days.  On monday he said 'animal cracker' at school, which we have never heard at home!  Today when I picked him up he said 'blue car' (blu ba) for Mommy's car (we play find mommy's car everyday).  He is repeating everything and it is starting to get pretty clear... see below for proof!

Such a proud moment:)

Fever Continues

Just thought I would give a quick update.  Liam's fever continues to hang on, although looking a little better this morning.  He went to bed with a 102.6 fever last night.  It was not that high all day when he had medicine, but as soon as the medicine wears off it spikes right back up.  This morning Liam woke up happier than he has in a few days and he barely had a fever at 100.4... so hopefully it will stay down today without any medicine and he will be back at daycare tomorrow!  For now, Jon is home with him again today, having all sorts of daddy fun!

And so it begins...

I foolishly thought maybe we would get a month before we dealt with the first daycare/school illness.  Foolish indeed!  Liam was not himself on Saturday and had a very rough night Saturday night.  Around 4 or so in the morning we discovered he was very hot and in the morning he had a 102.9 fever.  We double-drugged him all day on Sunday with Motrin and Tylenol, but the fever persisted.  He slept well on Sunday night and Jon stayed home with him today.  He still had a 102.9 fever this morning, but it went down to between 99 - 101 during the day with some meds (no continuous doubling up).  He went to bed with a 101.2 fever, but feeling much better.  He ate a good dinner see video and was playing without too many meltdowns afterwards.  Hopefully he will be feeling even better tomorrow.  Grandpa Dave is coming up to hang out with Liam tomorrow!

Meanwhile, I am thinking oh boy how is this winter going to go...

Daycare

I had been dreading the days and writing this post.  It just seems so final now... I am back at work, which means Liam is back at daycare.  I had a very hard time sending him back and I continue to have doubts as to whether daycare is the best place for him.  I very selfishly want to see and do everything with him.  It is very hard for me to know that he spends the majority of his time everyday with someone who is not family.  I won't lie, I have cried and cried over this day.  It has come and gone, which I am thankful for and I hope our new routine slides into place quickly and without too much drama.  I miss him terribly already and find myself checking the blog and yelling at myself for not posting new updates!

But all that being said, I am dealing with what I need to deal with.  Liam is adjusting into his 'little two' room very, very well.  His new room is different; the room no longer operates on Liam's schedule - Liam has to operate under the room schedule, which for the most part I think will be good in the long run (but every mommy part of me hates that)!  He eats breakfast, lunch and snack at daycare now, at a table with all his friends.  He naps on a cot now with his blankie and bear pillow.  There are little potties when he is ready to start using the potty and little sinks to wash his hands at!  He plays on bigger equipment outside, does art everyday and has much more freedom to wander throughout his room.

I was of course most worried about Liam sleeping, or rather not sleeping, but of course my son likes to prove mommy wrong!  The first day he napped, on his cot just fine for 40 minutes!  He woke up after that and stayed resting for about another hour while the other kids were sleeping.  The second day he only slept 25 minutes, but again continued to rest.  The third day he floored everyone by sleeping for almost two hours AND falling asleep without his paci at first (he woke up a bit later and put it in)!  The fourth day he went back to a 40 minute nap.  With all that said, he is tired when he gets home.  We have not altered his bedtime at home, but we may have to start sending him to bed a bit earlier again.  The good thing is that he is able to sleep until 7:30 (if he will) because we don't have to do breakfast at home anymore.  He took monster naps this three day weekend... four hour + naps three days in a row, which tells me he is tired!  But, all in all, we are making it through.

We were disappointed that Liam's friend from daycare wasn't really happy with the new room they were in and decided to go with an in-home provider.  So Vanessa and Liam only got a few days together last week and now she is off to another provider.  They are just too cute together.  I am hoping to get together with Vanessa's mom to have a few playdates for those two!

So, Liam seems to be adjusting to daycare fairly well.  Eating has been the biggest issue... the first day he only ate bread, the second only fruit... I hope it continues on without any drama and that Liam can learn to take a longer nap at daycare so we can all enjoy the happy, happy Liam!

More Zoo Fun!

We went to the zoo for an hour this weekend.  Liam as always ran around the fish house like a crazy toddler!  We also got to take his very first ride on the zoo train, which he loved!

Some painting fun!

Liam and I did some finger painting before school started last week... here's the aftermath :)

Silly Boy!

Some shots of silliness before we went back to school... he is just so precious!

18 Months Old

Well Liam officially hit the 'year and a half' mark and even though these pictures are a bit late (again!), I did take them on time (well almost!).  Liam just keeps growing and growing.  He is just such a little man now.  Hard to think he was just a baby!

Although Liam is changing everyday, it is very hard to really point out all of the differences now.  In general he is repeating, or trying to repeat so many new words all the time now.  I am trying to add new words to the side column, but really, I can't keep up!  His most favorite word right now is 'no'.  Things have become more difficult as he now voices his opinion ALL the time!  He is a hearty eater, although pretty picky.  He has recently really gotten good at the spoon and fork!  He is loving the show 'Monkey See, Monkey Do' right now.  He dances and tries out the different animal movements!  He still has his favorite toys and books.  He loves having his baths different colors with colored pellets.  We tried out the whole potty thing since he seemed very aware and interested.  That did not pan out too far, but we still have potties around and he still likes to sit on them.  I am in no hurry, so we will wait until he says differently. :)  He just recently was able to start drinking from a straw AND blowing a whistle (happened within an hour of each other)!  We have also moved up another size shoe (to size 7 now), third pair for the summer!  We had to get out fall clothes this weekend, he is fitting very well into some 24 month pants and is wearing 3T shirts and pjs.

Our little baby is growing into a big boy so fast... love this time, but it makes me sad too!  Hard to think that I will have a two-year old sooner than later...

New fall outfit!
