Looking at Pictures

Liam and Grandpa Dave looking at pictures

Potty!

Liam got a #2 in the potty this evening - we'll spare you pictures...  Kudos to mom for spotting the Liam pre-pooping face, getting the potty, and getting the diaper off in time - very brave!

Liam Riding

Liam wanted to go play with Mr Scar - what better way to get from one side of the house to the other than by trike?

Bunnies

This video started a little late - here's the backstory...

Liam found the bin of animals and started grabbing the white rabbits (and only the white rabbits - no other animal would do).  The answer to the riddle "How many white plastic rabbits can a toddler hold?" is 4.  He then took his four rabbits, found a shopping basket (a couple of aisles over), dropped in his rabbits, dragged the basket back over, and finally began rescuing all of the while rabbits.  Once they were all rescued, it was time to check out!  For those who are curious, a meltdown was averted due to some clever diversion tactics by mom and dad!

Climbing!

Liam climbed into his bedroom chair all by himself tonight... that's a first! The look on his face was pure joy and pride... precious!

Misc. Cuteness

 Going 'ni ni'
 Practing yoga... pretty good cobra!
 Mischief with rocks!
Sitting so nicely on his fish... if you could only read his mind and figure out what he was thinking!

19 Months Old!

I feel like I am making these posts all the time!  Liam is just growing up so fast these days!  Here are some highlights of a 19-month old Liam:
  • Favorite game to play is 'ni ni'.  He will go get a pillow from the couch and put it on the floor, then he will get the other pillow from the couch and yet another pillow from the other couch. He lines them up just so and then instructs with a firm tone "mama" (pointing to one pillow), "dada" (pointing to another pillow and says "ni ni".  We then all lay on our stomachs, knees under our chest and go 'ni ni'.  Liam does NOT share his pillow and often times he will sneak up and give zerberts to us while we are going 'ni ni'... too cute!
  • Favorite new book (literally read at least once a day for the last two weeks): If you give a cat a cupcake.  He really likes the page where the cat has to go to the beach and collect things.  He likes to find the shoes, mouse, hat, plane, glasses, truck in the pile of stuff the cat collects!
  • Eating... well, sporadic at best.  He is no longer eating the pureed vegetables and only eats quartered baby carrot sticks for actual vegetables.  Meats continue to be an awful thing to him as well.  The only nice thing is his newly discovered love of french fries and m&ms.  He will eat a bite of something to get a bite of french fries or a M&M.  Yes, we believe in bribery, and yes this is a daily occurence! :)
  • Loves, Loves, Loves his colored baths.  In fact will not take a bath without it being a very specific color.  Blue seems to be the favorite, although purple and green make appearances quite often too!
  • He is in love with school (daycare).  When you ask him if he wants to go to school he always gets a big smile and says 'yeah'.  He waves to school from the car and claps.  He gets so excited going in to his classroom.  This makes life so much easier on me.  I know he loves it, so I can let go of some of my guilt and worry!  He is even taking a 'good' nap 1-2 hours everyday on his cot!
  • He is repeating so many words and 'talking' in his jibberish all the time.
  • He gets 'crazy' running around the house like a maniac... pretty cute!
  • He has recently discovered the moon, which is out during the day lately... he will look up in the sky, find the moo and shout "moo" for moon.  He is very proud of himself and we are so proud of him too!
  • Tantrums, hitting and general boundary testing are a hourly occurence.  I have started a 'time out' of sorts with him.  It is not a timed thing, but rather he has to sit on the carpet wherever he happens to be and sit until he can say sorry.  He does this without too much issue most of the time.  I don't know how well it works though since tonight he came over to say sorry and instead pinched me and went to sit back down again... if only there were a parenting handbook of answers...
  • Jon has been away all week and Liam has gotten to talk to daddy on the video phone... which he LOVES!  I don't think I have seen him smile that big ever before!  He blows daddy kisses and waves at him.  The one time daddy couldn't video and Liam just got to talk to him though Liam got angry at the phone...  man this kid is spoiled!
  • Liam is pretty consistent in his ability to point to at least 10 different colors now.  He says more and more colors accurately as well.  He really likes to find green, blue and red things.  He is just fascinated by colors everywhere... always pointing and asking!
  • Counting is also becoming more and more of a fascination.  He is not counting himself yet, but he really likes to point to things and have others count them.
  • Liam has started to look at words and point to different letters.  He likes to point to each word in book titles and has recently really liked hearing the letter sounds as well!
He is really doing so much all the time.  Jon and I are so proud of him!
