Liam's First Concert
Last Saturday night was our 2nd annual trip to the Milwaukee Zoo A-La-Carte. Liam being another year older and wiser, we decided to stay late and catch the headlining band - the BoDeans. We all had fun and Liam loved getting to stay up late and going to his first concert!

17 Months
Ugg... I feel so behind! We did actually take this picture pretty close to Liam's 17 month old date, but it has just taken awhile to get posted!

Cannot tell you how many times we have 'lost' our Liam... he takes 'peek a boo' very seriously!
What does our 17 month old (well really 17 1/2 months!) Liam do?
Continues to love, love, love books. Favorites continue to be knuffle bunnies, llamas, chicka chicka boom boom, with some new favorites. Basically anything with animals, especially farm animals is a huge hit right now.
Liam still loves singing his songs and he loves knowing the motions :)
Farm animals are a huge hit right now. Liam asks to see farm animals, carries around his fisher price animals and will ask for specific animals all the time!
Liam loves matching pictures. He has matching games that he loves playing everyday! He gets so excited when he can find more of anything!
Liam will play by himself with his farm and zoo toys. He likes putting different animals 'ni ni' in the bed and then waking them up!
Likes riding toys and pushing/pulling things all over
Loves 'walking' the dog by dragging his leash all over the house :)
Does not love veggies or meats very much... loves his fruits, which helps! Liam went through a growth spurt where he was all of a sudden eating twice as much food for about a week... now he is back to pecking through things!
Only has paci in crib or in the carseat. He knows he needs to leave paci in the crib and now thinks it is a big funny deal to leave his paci behind!
Is saying more and more words, I really can't keep up! He is imitating many words with his limited sounds. Many things all sound the same, but he uses his language so well to get what he needs. He must have at least 50 signs now, making up some of his own when it pleases him :) He has at least 25 words that he uses spontaneously. He knows about twenty animal sounds and loves learning new ones! Current consonant inventory (yes, I am a dork!): Initial sounds: m, d, b, n, w, s; Final sounds: f, b; vowels continue to emerge, although mostly he has '00' 'aa' 'a' 'u'
Is climbing and sliding and swinging at the park! Really loves sliding and swinging!
Is fascinated by babies, human or animal! He has three fisher price cows and three horses... he calls one a baby, one mommy and one daddy for both the horses and cows... to cute! Lots of times our cows and horses have to come into the car with us and occassionally the store too! My favorite was one day when he 'buckled' his neigh and moo into the car cart with him... so sweet!
Likes cooking with his new kitchen... often times he can be found making fish soup on the windowsill in the living room :)
Loves art projects... often requesting coloring and 'didu' (stickers)
Everyday this month Liam is gaining more and more of a personality... he is just such a little man who likes to play jokes, hide, give hugs/kisses and be silly!

Golfing
We went to Betty Brinn Children's Museum this morning for a couple of hours and Liam got to play with lots of new things! Several videos to show off his new play toys!

Swimming
Liam was a little hesitant at first, but he got used to the water after a little while. He went in the deep end with mommy, daddy and uncle andrew... there was even some accidental face in the water moments!
Grandpa gave me a stick...
and Uncle Andrew let me drive his car!
Liam still tries to climb into the front seat from time to time for a driving lesson :) I keep telling him only Uncle Andrew can teach a toddler to drive! Fun had by all!

Blog Catchup
I've got a backlog of Liam videos waiting to be posted - enjoy! Most of these are from our family camping trip to S. Kettle Moraine state park last weekend with a random Liam eating video thrown in for good measure. We'll have a separate post coming for the camping trip but here's something to tide everyone over. David got some really great Liam shots over the weekend - we plan to plagiarize them here - stay tuned!
