9 Months Old!!

My oh my has Evan changed... nine months is here and our little baby seems determined to keep growing up!  Evan has made some major changes in this month; here are some of the cool, new things our boy is doing:

• Weight: 21 lbs, 13 oz - 84th %ile
• Height: 29" 78th %ile
• Head Circumference: 91st %ile
• CRAWLING... everywhere!  It took him longer than he would have liked, but he figured it out and once he did... he mastered it very quickly!  Wood floors gave him a challenge for a few days, but now he is a pro!  He can even climb the stairs (with supervision!!)  Transitioning from sit to crawl incredibly well.

• Pulling to stand... everywhere.  Try to climb things - so far only successful with the fireplace hearth and the stairs (new gates installed!), but it will only be a matter of time before it is the couches and end tables!
• Took a couple of weeks to learn how to sit back down when standing, but has now mastered that for the most part.  Trickiest thing now is sitting down in the kitchen when hanging on to a cupboard door (which he also is learning to open!)
• Doing some cruising along the furniture.  Pulled to stand behind Liam's car and walked a few steps with the other day!
• Babbling up a storm... blah, blah was a fav for most of this month, but we are also hearing 'ba' 'mama' (not for me yet just playing), dada (again... just playing) and a lot of fun other sounds.  In the car Liam and Evan just babble at each other back and forth... too cute!
• Speaking of Liam, still one of Evan's favorite people.  He loves playing with him.  Evan has learned to play like a 'big boy', getting *gently* tackled, attacking Liam and crawling right behind him.  Evan loves being an airplane and flying behind Liam :)
• Eating... EVERYTHING.  He loves all the table foods he can get his hands on... noodles, cheese, avocado, green beans, strawberries, chicken, pancake... the list goes on and on.  He will eat a whole meal this way all of a sudden.  He likes yogurt and chunkier purees too, but really prefers to be feeding himself.
• Sleeping... well, still a challenge and still completely unpredictable.  He can sleep from 7 pm to 7 am with only one wake up for a feeding around 5ish.  He doesn't do this too often lately (teeth, motor movements, cold... ).  Lately our norm is up again many, many times.  Sometimes he is able to put himself back down, sometimes not. We have had numerous sleepless nights in a row again and I personally feel like a zombie.  Jon gives me Saturday mornings to sleep in... that is much needed and appreciated!
• Playing with toys... actually playing!  He loves the steering wheel on the red car, the phone from his suitcase, pushing trucks/cars, putting things in and out (a new one that emerged this weekend!) - especially Liam's trains and planes, likes balls, likes crawling with things in his hand now (another new one this weekend), likes coffee cups and is now getting more and more interested in books.  He turns pages to big chunky board books and likes feeling textures/lifting flaps!  He likes towers and is trying to build them himself, but isn't too big into knocking them down.  He loves playing with Liam's toys and is constantly crawling to get into whatever Liam is into!  Liam is handling this well... he is such a great big brother!
• Evan is sharing pacis now... pretty darn cute!
• He LOVES being held upside down.  Belly laughs the whole time!
• Moving all the time... hates getting dressed and having his diaper changed.
• Still loves bath :)
• Fearless with everything... loves exploring new things.  Very much opposite of our Liam :)
• Size three diapers are still fitting for the most part, he fits into 12 month clothes and some 18 month onesies right now
• For about two weeks had his tongue sticking out all the time to the side of his mouth and was curling it inside his mouth!
