[insert 2 year old picture with rhino that we still haven't taken]
Evan's birthday celebration happened amidst a run of the flu in our house and the day of his birthday was in fact postponed due to middle of the night puking sessions. Ahhh... We did end up having family over for a party the day after (post to come... I promise!), but that birthday will forever stick in my head!
Our two-year old:
- 30 lbs ( 74%ile), 35.75" (88.9%ile) and head circumference of 50 cm (82nd %ile)
- All in all a growing boy who is relatively healthy!
- Evan loves so many things and I feel like having Liam as an older brother just brings on so many more milestones even quicker!
- He is counting to ten and beyond!
- He LOVES singing. His favorites right now are ABCs, Old McDonald, Wheels on the Bus. At night with mommy he now has two songs: Twinkle and You are My Sunshine
- He enjoys pretend play so much. He walks, feeds and changes his baby doll. He now has a bed for baby and will pretend play 'night night' all the time. He loves playing shopping/grocery store and checking out with his cash register.
- Evan loves playing with brother. He will do anything that Liam asks him to do (not always exactly how Liam wants him to!). He drives trains, crashes cars, builds legos, reads... the list goes on and on. Liam is by far Evan's favorite playmate and he just idolizes that big brother of his!
- Favorite books right now are the Little Blue Truck books, Good morning sunshine, gossie series, hello kitty, and farm books! He definitely has his favorites and will search through piles just to find the exact right books!
- Evan is running everywhere! He also just mastered jumping. He likes to jump. Everywhere. From everything. Yep, it is all sorts of fun here! I have had to say more than once, we can't jump/do yoga/ roll from the ottoman!
- Evan also has all sorts of opinions that he wants known right now. He screams lovingly for Mama. He is not shy about throwing things that frustrate him or throwing himself on the floor to really let you know how important it is to him. He is learning quickly how to manage his emotions, but at times they still just overtake him!
- He also is getting very good at stalling! Picking the exact book, person, way of getting places... it takes an eternity to 'walk' up the stairs (a hole!) and Evan will suddenly declare "I crawl" just to take that extra time and have some extra control over any situation!
- Going to Laurel's house continues to be an exciting and loving adventure each and everyday. Evan loves the adventures they go on in the backyard, to the library and to all sorts of parks! Laurel is just amazing and we could not be more happy with our decision to send Evan there!
- Evan loves anything with cheese and carbs. His favorite foods revolve around 'cheesy noonles', 'dilla', and just plain cheese! He loves all his fruits and lots of snack items as well! Veggies and meats are just not his thing lately, but he will eat for 'zert' :)
- Evan loves becoming a 'big boy'. He sits on the potty (no success there, but really not pushing that one yet!), takes vitamins, drinks from big boy open cups, walks ("I dock") everywhere... he just can't wait to grow up and be just like Liam. Mommy is just trying to hold on to and cherish all the little boy moments I can...
Jon and I are just so amazed at these two boys we created and get the joy of raising. They are both so special and amazing and are the perfect fit together! We love you Evan!
